SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) –
The Syracuse men’s basketball team rolled past Daemen College in their exhibition opener 90-71 on Saturday night at the Carrier Dome.
Syracuse jumped out to a 47 to 28 lead at halftime. Elijah Hughes scored 9 of his game-high 24 points in the first half.
Ten of the 12 players that played scored for Syracuse.
Hughes finished the night 8-11 from the field. He also added five assists.
Sophomore Robert Braswell came off the bench and poured in 17 points.
Buddy Boeheim, along with freshmen Quincy Guerrier, Brycen Goodine and Joe Girard III all added eight points in the win over the Wildcats.
As a team Syracuse shot nearly 58% from the floor (33-57), including 15-33 from behind the arc.
SU out rebounded Daemen 42 to 24.
Syracuse will wrap up its exhibition schedule on Tuesday when they host Carleton University. That will be an 8 p.m. tip at the Carrier Dome.
