Syracuse Fire Department’s new ladder truck in service

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Syracuse Ladder 4 is now in service. The Syracuse Fire Department put the new ladder truck into service on Wednesday morning.

The 76,000-pound vehicle will respond from Fire Station 9 on Shuart Avenue.

The rig features a 110-foot steel aerial ladder with a remote-controlled nozzle. The truck also has a full complement of ground ladders.

The truck will be used to fight all fires, including fires at high rise buildings.

The new fire truck cost around $960,000.
