Syracuse Police arrest man allegedly involved in stabbing near Le Moyne College

Syracuse Police have arrested a man accused of stabbing someone in the neck and head outside an apartment near Le Moyne College.

Police were called to an apartment building at 1012 Northway Street, just off Smith Street and Erie Boulevard, around 7 p.m. on Sunday night.

They found a 40-year-old man who had been stabbed in the head and neck.

He told police he was inside his home, heard noises outside, and went to see what it was. When he went outside, he told officers he was confronted by two men. They got into a fight, and one of the men stabbed him. 

The victim was taken to Upstate University Hospital and police say his injuries are non-life-threatening. 

41-year-old Jose Morales, of Baldwinsville, has been arrested in connection with the incident. 

Morales was charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

This investigation is continuing. Further information will be released when it becomes available.
