Syracuse Police have identified the victim of last Friday’s homicide on South Geddes Street as Jaquan C. Moore, 18 years old, of Syracuse.

Last Friday night, police were called to the 600 block of South Geddes Street for reports of shots fired. There were also reports of a car crash in that area.

When they arrived, officers found a car that had driven off the roadway and struck a utility pole.

Investigators say Moore was stopped at a traffic light facing northbound on South Geddes Street near Seymour Street when he was shot. His vehicle continued northbound, driving off the east side of the roadway and then striking a building and a utility pole.

Officers say Moore was transported to Upstate University Hospital for a gunshot wound to the upper part of his body.  He died of his injuries a short time later.

This investigation is continuing, but at this time, there is no additional information or suspect description available.
