Syracuse Police and Fire Departments are investigating two recent arson incidents that occurred on the city’s West Side and South Side.

On Tuesday, crews responded to the 300 block of Furman Street for a structure on fire around 9:15 p.m.

Although crews quickly extinguished the fire, the building still sustained extensive damage on the interior and exterior. The property was a vacant residence.

On July 6, SFD and SPD responded to the 1200 block of Milton Avenue for a fire that damaged the interior and exterior of the building.

It was determined that both fires were set intentionally.

No one was injured in either incident.

At this time, these incidents do not appear to be related, police say.

Fire Investigators and Detectives are currently investigating these incidents.
