SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) Syracuse Police are investigating after what started as a stolen vehicle ended in a short police pursuit and a car on its side.
A police spokesperson told NewsChannel 9 just around 5 p.m. Saturday, officers observed what appeared to be a stolen vehicle on the 1600 block of W Colvin St.
Police say the driver left when officers tried to stop them. A short time later they found the vehicle but the driver had left, causing the car to roll down West Colvin St., hitting two vehicles before stopping on its side in someone’s driveway.
There were no injuries, but police say this should serve as a reminder to lock your doors. “Locking your car doors, not leaving your keys in the vehicles is huge in preventing these types of crimes from starting in the first place,” said Sgt. Matthew Malinowski, Public Information Officer with SPD.
We’re told three people are being questioned.
