The Syracuse Fire Department says a woman who was rescued from a January apartment fire has died as a result from her injuries.
On Jan. 19, crews were called to a fire inside an Almus Olver Towers apartment just after 3 a.m.
The fire was contained to one apartment on the 12th floor.
The apartment’s occupant, 53-year-old Michele Greco, was rescued by firefighters and transported to Upstate for burn injuries and smoke inhalation.
On Feb. 21, Greco died from her injuries.
Fire investigators determined the cause of the fire was from careless smoking.
