Syracuse women’s athletes participate in ‘Play4Kay’ event with Think Pink game

Local News

Syracuse women’s athletes decided to put away their Orange grear on Sunday, and got into pink for breast cancer awareness at the Carrier Dome.

Sunday was the annual SU women’s basketball “Play4Kay” game.

The event is named after Kay Yow, the former coach for North Carolina State who died from breast cancer in 2009.

Before the game, the SU women’s teams came together to celebrate women and girls in sports.

“It’s a great way to kind of rally behind each other and even learn about sports that we might not know about,” said Syracuse Univsersity Student Athlete Engagement Assistant, Cameron Spera. “So it’s a great opportunity if you’re on the volleyball team to learn about field hockey or something that you might not have played.”

If you want to help the Kay Yow fund, you can join the Play4Kay free throw challenge. All month long you can make a pledge for each free throw Cuse makes.
