Teen in critical condition following shooting on Syracuse’s South Side

One person is in critical condition following a shooting in Syracuse’s South Side on Friday.

Police were called to South Avenue, near E. Bissell Street for reports of shots fired around 3:40 p.m.

A 19-year-old man was shot from behind while walking in the area, police say. 

The victim was taking to Upstate in a private vehicle.

Police say the man is in critical condition but are expected to survive.

There is no suspect information at this time.
