Town of DeWitt working on deer management plan

In DeWitt, town officials are working on a plan to cut the deer population.

The planning director says the number of deer per square mile is ten times what it is in more rural areas.

The town tells us they are working on a plan with SUNY ESF and Cornell Cooperative Extension.

We’re told the town is looking at several options including lethal and non-lethal methods.

The plan is still several months from being unveiled.
