FAYETTEVILLE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) – Two people were rushed to the hospital Wednesday evening after their motorcycle struck a deer.
According to Manlius Police, officers responded to the 200 block of Genesee Turnpike for a collision involving a motorcycle and a deer. Officers say it happened around 7:30 p.m.
Both the passenger and the driver were injured. Both were transported to Upstate Hospital and are in stable condition. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The Town of Manlius Police Department, with the assistance of New York State Park Police, closed Genesee Turnpike between the Green Lakes State Park entrance and George Taylor Road for an hour-and-a-half to investigate. The road has since reopened. The collision remains under investigation.
Police say it does not appear that alcohol or speed were a factor in the collision.
