Two teens arrested in connection to March homicide in Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse Police have arrested two teens in connection to a March homicide.

On Saturday, March 30, 2019, at around 9:40 P.M., Syracuse Police responded to the 100 block of Merriman Avenue for a call of shots fired. Upon their arrival, officers located several casings in the area. A short time later, a 17-year-old male victim was located at the intersection of Irving Avenue and East Adams Street. That victim was taken to Upstate University Hospital where he is expected to survive. A second victim, Rhyan Williams, 21, was located along Merriman Avenue and was later pronounced dead.

Detectives were able to develop two suspects through their investigation. On Tuesday, May 28th, a 17-year-old boy was arrested. On May 30th, Lando McMurren, 19, was arrested. Both are now charged with Murder in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon Second Degree.
