Two teens indicted on murder charges for December murder of store clerk

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Two teens have been indicted on murder charged for the murder of a Syracuse store clerk who was shot during a December robbery.

Troy Derby, 18, and Stanley Sawyer, 18, have been charged with second degree murder, attempted robbery and criminal possession of a weapon. Derby is also facing first degree murder charges.

Both men are accused of killing Asim Musa outside of Eddie’s Eagle Market on Oakwood Avenue the night of December 19th.

Police say Derby and Sawyer tried to rob the market when they shot Musa in the back.
