UPDATE: 3 arrested in Elmira dumpster death investigation

UPDATE: Elmira Police have arrested three individuals in connection to Tuesday morning’s death investigation. 

Fabian A Bonaparte, 36, Kharii E Monroe, 20 and a 17-year-old male have been arrested and are in the Elmira City Lockup pending arraignment.

The three Elmira residents are charged with first-degree manslaughter. 

The identity of the deceased is being withheld, pending family notification.

A body was found in a dumpster behind the Elmira Samaritan Center around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers located an individual inside of a dumpster and emergency medical personnel responded, however the person was already deceased.

The 911 caller was interviewed and he stated that he had observed a fight in the area where a person was knocked down. 

The caller then saw this person being carried away from the scene of the fight towards the area of Mt. Zoar Street.

A short time later, the witness grew concerned and contacted 911. Officers responded and located the deceased person.

Officers were able to identify the location where the initial confrontation took place. Several persons of interest were identified and brought to the Elmira Police Department to be interviewed.
