UPDATE: Employee at Oakwood Avenue market dies after being shot

A 41-year-old man and employee at Eddie’s Eagle Market in the 100 block of Oakwood Avenue has died after being shot on Wednesday night.

Syracuse Police say a masked suspect entered the store with a handgun, when he was confronted by the victim, Asim Musa.

Musa and the suspect ended up in a physical altercation, which ended outside.

Investigators say once Musa was on the ground, a second suspect approached him and shot him in the back.

The suspects, who were described as two younger black males wearing all dark clothing fled the scene, running across the street in an easterly direction.  

Musa was rushed to Upstate University Hospital, where he later died.

This investigation is very active and ongoing. Further information will be released when it becomes available.
