CICERO, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) – The Cicero Police Department is trying to identify a man accused of stealing a vehicle from the fire department Friday evening.

Officers say the brown 2017 Jeep Cherokee was taken around 6:40 p.m. on April 19, while firefighters at Station #2 on Route 31 were out on a fire alarm call. The vehicle has volunteer firefighter license plates bearing VF14895.

When leaving the fire station the garage bay door failed to close and shortly after, a male suspect entered the unoccupied firehouse, located the keys to the vehicle and drove off East on Route 31.

Cicero Police say the suspect, who was captured on security cameras at the fire station and a nearby Walgreens, is described as a white male possibly in his 30’s. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket, black hoodie under the jacket, black pants, blue shoes and a baseball hat backward.

Anyone with information about the suspect or knowledge of the vehicle’s location is asked to contact Cicero Police by calling 911 and requesting an officer.
