Reward being offered for information on Deshawnte Waller

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - UPDATE: The U.S. Marshals Office is offering a reward for information that leads to the arrest of Deshawnte Waller. 

They're offering $1,000. 

The agency is looking for 41-year-old Deshawnte Waller, who evaded police capture following a two-car crash in Syracuse on Tuesday.

He is wanted by the New York State Parole on a parole violation for failing to register as a sex offender. 

Waller's warrant is out of the state of Georgia.

Waller has a long criminal history which includes numerous arrests in the states of New York, Georgia and South Carolina.

His convictions include rape, drug possession, weapons possession, assault, robbery and burglary.

Waller has numerous ties to the Syracuse area.

Law enforcement saw a vehicle that matched the description of one Waller operates.

They attempted to follow it and Waller sped up pm East Genesee Street, evading officers.

A short time later, law enforcement came across a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of East Genesee Street and Salt Springs Road.

Waller's vehicle had appeared to crash into another vehicle, and Waller was no where to be seen. 

The two occupants of the other vehicle were not seriously injured. 

Waller is described as 5'10" and weighs about 200 pounds.

He has multiple tattoos.

Marshals say he should be considered armed and dangerous.
