SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A celebrity sighting in Syracuse. Actor Vince Vaughn was seen around downtown Tuesday morning and a lucky few people were able to snap a selfie.
Vaughn, known for his roles in “Swingers,” “Wedding Crashers,” “Dodgeball” and “The Breakup,” had breakfast at JJ’s Miss Syracuse Diner, near city hall. JJ’s owner, Joe Todisco, says he recognized Vaughn, but didn’t know why, but his waitress, Becca Tousant, didn’t hesitate, filling in her boss and posing for a photo with the 49-year-old.
“As he sat down, I said, ‘gee whiz, I think I know. I think he’s been in here before’ and one of my girls said ‘I think he looks like someone on TV’ and I said ‘isn’t that the guy from “Wedding Crashers?”’ So she Googled and said ‘Vince Vaughn’ and I said ‘Vince Vaughn, that’s the guy,’” Todisco said.
“He told me to be all calm and just bring his food out and say ‘here you go Mr. Vaughn,” but I got all girly and butterflies in my stomach and was just like ‘are you Vince Vaughn?’ So he said yes he was, Tousant said.
Vaughn was with film producer Jeremy Garelick and told Tousant he was here in town to shoot a movie, but the film remains a mystery.
In case you were wondering, Vaughn ordered eggs, bacon, and toast, with some coffee, of course.
