Vice President Mike Pence is scheduled to visit Syracuse next week, according to Congressman John Katko’s campaign.

Invitations have been sent out to selected guests.

Sources familiar with the event tell NewsChannel 9 that it’s scheduled for Tuesday at noon at the Embassy Suites near Destiny USA.

A campaign spokesperson would not confirm the time, date or location, but says the event is a fundraiser for the Republican congressman, who is seeking re-election in November.

Katko will face the winner of the Democratic primary, Juanita Perez Williams or Dana Balter. The primary vote is scheduled for Tuesday, June 26.

In 2014, when Katko first ran against Congressman Dan Maffei, Vice President Joe Biden visited Syracuse to campaign for the Democratic incumbent.

This is a developing story. NewsChannel 9 and LocalSYR.com will provide updates.
