UPDATE: Woman identified after kayakers found her body in Ithaca’s Six Mile Creek

ITHACA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Ithaca Police have identified the woman whose body was found in Six Mile Creek as 31-year-old Wendi Owens of Endfield.

Investigators say kayakers paddling through the channel, near the railroad bridge off Fulton Street, made the discovery around 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.

The cause of Owens’ death is still under investigation and police are asking for information.
