A local coal company is stepping up to help out customers burned by Dennis Coal and Stove Co. in Fabius.
Woodford Bros. on Route 80 in Apulia is offering a discount to customers that prepaid with Dennis Coal and Stove Co. the past few months but have not received their orders.
For at least two weeks, Dennis Coal and Stove Co. has not been answering phone calls and posted a sign on their building saying ‘Closed For Business’.
The New York State Attorney General’s Office and Better Business Bureau continue to look into the matter first brought to their attention by the NewsChannel 9 Your Stories Team.
In the meantime, Woodford Bros. is teaming up with their supplier, Blaschak Coal Corporation, to offer $50 per ton off their normal coal prices to supply any of the people who prepaid with Dennis Coal and Stove Co. but not gotten their deliveries.
To claim the offer Woodford Bros. is simply asking customers show their receipt from Dennis Coal or some other acceptable proof of purchase.
The new order needs to be placed and delivered before November 30 of this year.
Tom Woodford III is the Sales Manager for Woodford Bros. and also third generation in the business that started in 1965.
He tells NewsChannel 9, “Although Woodford has had no part in causing this to happen we just don’t want to see this reflect badly on the industry, and because we have been here for generations this is our community we don’t to see people damaged financially because they trusted another company.”
