CICERO, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Hot House Brewing, a new brewery owned by Barone Gardens, is opening in Cicero on Saturday, April 13.
The brewery will debut beers with ingredients grown at the Barone Garden greenhouse.
“Hops are traditionally grown outside and they usually take about three years to establish. But hops in the greenhouse we were able to get hops in the first cycle,” said owner John Barone. “But hops also need to be cold treated, basically simulate a winter and that is one of the things we did this past season. So the hops we grow this summer will really be an indication on if this will be a good process.”
The brewery business is booming across the state and the plan at Hot House Brewing is to make a wet hot beer, something that could be the first of its kind in New York.
