Man charged with attempted murder in Utica shooting

A Utica man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting that put a local school on lock-out.

Police responded to the 1500 block of Conkling Avenue around 10:30 a.m. Monday, where they found man bleeding from a gunshot wound to his upper thigh. 

The victim was treated at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Through the investigation, police arrested Durrel Dow in connection with the shooting.

Dow has been charged with second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree criminal use of a firearm.

Additional charges may be filed.
