Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner announced on Thursday that she will not participate in the 2018 race for Congress.
The Democrat has been at the center of speculation for a number of offices – including Governor – once her tenure as Syracuse mayor ends at the end of this year.
Miner offered the following statement:
“After much thoughtful consideration and conversations with my family, I have decided I will not be a candidate for Congress in 2018. This was not an easy decision given magnitude of issues faced by our community, but I believe we are best served supporting other progressive leaders in this election both at home and across New York.”
