Fair butter sculpture taken down; will be converted into renewable energy

GEDDES, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — It was ‘butter destruction’ Tuesday morning at the New York State fairgrounds as the 800-pound butter sculpture was taken apart.

This year’s sculpture, “Milk, Love What’s Real,” featured a grandfather and child dunking cookies into milk and a young couple sharing a milkshake.

The butter, which can’t be eaten, will not go to waste. Noblehurst farms will be converting it into renewable energy to power the dairy farm and make liquid fertilizer for crops.
