GEDDES, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — We have received a lot of questions about parking. Where are people supposed to go if they have a handicap sticker?
Your first option is in the paved Pink accessible parking lot. The entrance to this lot is across from Gate 3 off State Fair Boulevard.
If that lot is full, there is limited additional accessible parking in the Emerald Lot, which can be entered across from Bryne Dairy on Bridge Street.
According to Fair Director Troy Waffner, the fair can accommodate approximately 400 vehicles in those two lots.
So if the Pink and Emerald Lots are full, there is a limited number of parking spaces for people with disabilities in the paved Orange Lot and in the unpaved Brown Lot.
With all of the changes with the Park-N-Ride and the handicapped spots, the fair admits they are still working out some of the kinks.
“We are putting up more signage so that is where it is, so when you are driving up State Fair Boulevard, you will see the signs for handicapped parking and know right where it is,” Waffner said.
