GEDDES, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Sunday was another perfect day to get out to the fair, and 119,301 people came out. That’s 17,711 better than a year ago and good for the second-best ever for the first Sunday of the fair.
Every day this year so far has either been the best or second-best ever. After five days, the 2019 Fair is 432 attendees ahead of 2018.
Chevy Court’s night concert, the Dropkick Murphys, brought out over 30,000 fans to the area. More than 2,500 came out to see Jimmie Allen earlier in the day, and nearly 5,000 people came out to see Pop Evil at the Experience Stage.
Another measure of success? The fair ran out of chocolate milk for the second time.
FUN FACT: It’s the fifth time in 42 post-WWII first-Sundays that attendance cracked the 100,000 mark, with three of them coming back-to-back-to-back starting in 2017.
