News

On Sunday, Oct. 30, Alliance of Communities Transforming Syracuse (ACTS) will host a rally to support the “Raise the Age” campaign and to oppose solitary confinement for youth in New York State.

New York and North Carolina are the only two states that still automatically charge 16-year-olds as adults.

In New York, Gov. Andrew Cuomo supports legislation that would raise the age for adult prosecution to 18, with some exceptions for violent crimes.
