CLAY, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A Town of Clay resident reached out to NewsChannel 9, sharing a video caught on his Ring doorbell.
Our story caught the attention of another homeowner.
“I saw the story the day before. I was here looking, well, they’re in the neighborhood, so let me make sure the camera was on and focused, just making sure everyone is in check in case they do roll through the neighborhood, the cars are locked,” said David Carroll.
When they did come to his house, Carroll happened to be watching his cameras and called 911.
Within minutes deputies were on the scene and had Jackari Townsend, 20, of Clay, and Linquell Sparks, 20, of Syracuse. Both were charged with criminal possession of stolen property.
“I don’t think we could have done a better job as far as neighborhoods and the community coming together and talking to each other over the last 24-48 hours that this has happened,” Carroll said.
