An Oneida man has died in a hit and run that occurred early Wednesday morning in Pennsylvania.

According to police, 27-year-old Timothy Vair was hit by a vehicle around 3 a.m. in the 2500 block of Birney Avenue in Moosic, Pennsylvania. Moosic is just south of Scranton.

Vair was found dead in the middle of the road.

Police believe Vair may have been in town for an upcoming music festival.

Investigators believe there were two separate incidents that happened in the area. Just before the hit-and-run, prosecutors believe there was a separate fight at a bar nearby.

At this point, deputies do not know if Vair died from his injuries sustained in the hit and run or from something else.

A Hyundai SUV was located with a large dent in its hood and a smashed windshield. Five people were in the vehicle and are being questioned by police. Police say they are cooperating.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
