Police: 15-year-old pedestrian struck by intoxicated Camillus driver

A Camillus man has been arrested for allegedly hitting a teen with his car while, while allegedly under the influence.

According to Syracuse Police, 55-year-old James Draveck was driving in the 300 block of W. Bear Street when he allegedly hit a 15-year-old walking on the road.

The accident occurred around 6:20 p.m.

Police say Draveck fled the scene, but officers were able to locate him and his vehicle based on information from a witness.

The 15-year-old boy suffered apparent leg fractures as well as head and facial injuries. He was sent to Upstate University Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

Draveck was charged with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a serious personal injury crash and first-degree vehicular assault.

He was sent to the Onondaga County Justice Center and will be arraigned on Wednesday morning.
