Several law enforcement agencies searched an area off State Route 46 near the city of Oneida for evidence connected to the disappearance of Tammy Mahoney – but at the end of the search, police say, the results were negative.
The search lasted throughout the day.
State Police say Oneida Police and the FBI requested State Police K9 units to assist in their search.
Oneida Police say additional leads in the case have emerged – and they’re pursuing those as well.
Investigators believe Mahoney disappeared in the same area they search on Friday.
Mahoney, a Long Island native, was attending college in Morrisville when she disappeared 35 years ago.
She was last seen hitchhiking along State Route 46, and she was picked up and taken to a party on the Oneida Nation.
She has not been seen since, and no body has ever been located.
Mahoney was 20 at the time of her disappearance.
