UNITED STATES (WSYR-TV) — If you own a Ford Focus, the company is recalling 58,000 vehicles due to a possible fuel tank issue.
The Ford Motor Company says some 2012 and 2017 Focus models and some 2013-2014 Focus ST models are part of the recall. There is an issue with the powertrain software in some of the vehicles, which could cause the fuel tank to deform.
The issue is connected with an October recall where nearly 1.5 million Ford Focuses were recalled for the same issue. Some of those cars were improperly serviced, which has prompted another recall of those vehicles.
Ford advises those with affected cars should take the vehicles to their deals, who will reprogram the software and replace any parts that were affected.
