Rome Police warning people about traveling nurse scam

News
scam alert

Police are warning people who may be in the area of Rome Memorial Hospital that a woman claiming to be a traveling nurse who asks people for money or a ride may be involved in a scam.

According to police, they’re receiving reports that a black woman between the ages of 35 and 40 – who may have scars on her right hand – is telling people that she came to Rome to take care of a patient.

Allegedly, she goes on to tell them that the patient was admitted to the hospital, and she’s now out of work.

The woman has been seen wearing nurse’s scrub, and also jeans and a sweatshirt.

Police are asking people to call them at (315) 339-7780 if they are approached.
