Central New Yorkers have been complaining about the Lakeview Amphitheater’s traffic woes since it opened, and a Senator is asking government agencies to deal with the problem.

Senator Chuck Schumer is asking the Federal Highway Administration and Onondaga County to work together to open up more access points to the Amphitheater.

According to Schumer’s office, the flow of traffic could be improved if access points joining I-690 with the Orange Lot used by the Amphitheater are opened up.

He says that thus far the FHWA has denied the county’s requests to open up with points.

Schumer noted that the agency has already worked with the neighboring New York State Fair to create access points for high-volume traffic periods.
