Seneca County school resource officer accused of having inappropriate relationship with student

INTERLAKEN, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — An Interlaken Village Police Officer has been arrested for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with an eighth grader while serving as a school resource officer at the victim’s school district.

According to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, Elisia Panipinto used her official capacity as a police officer to gain access to an eighth-grade child in the South Seneca Central School District.

Deputies say Panipinto and the child had a “physical, romantic relationship” and there is no evidence of sexual conduct at this time.

Deputies do not believe there were additional victims.

The investigation began when a complaint was made by the Interlaken Police Department and the South Seneca Central School District.

Panipinto was sent to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $250 cash bail/$500 bond.
