A Binghamton High School junior has died after being hit by an alleged drugged driver on Monday afternoon.

Harper Stantz and friend Britney Laserinko were hit by a vehicle around 3:30 p.m. on Beethoven Street.

The pair were walking along the sidewalk.

Stantz died from her injuries on Wednesday.

In a statement, the school district says Harper “brightened the lives of all who knew her, and she will be profoundly missed. We extend our deepest condolences and support to the Stantz family as they cope with this immense loss.”

Meanwhile, Laserinko remains hospitalized in Syracuse where she underwent significant surgery.

She is currently stable.

A GoFundMe page to support both families has raised more than $52,000:
