A Syracuse man who was wanted in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed a 2-year-old girl and injured two other people pleaded not guilty on Wednesday.
18-year-old Felix Santos was wanted in connection with the May 27 crash that killed Jameisha Stanford, and injured 26-year-old James Stanford and 1-year-old James Stanford Jr. on Shonnard Street.
He was caught in North Carolina with the help of U.S. Marshals – he was returned to Syracuse on July 11.
He faces charges including:
– Second-degree manslaughter
– Leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision
– Reckless driving
– Multiple vehicle and traffic offenses
He also faces separate charges from April 17 for criminal possession of a controlled substance.
On Wednesday, his bail was set at $250,000 cash bail or bond.
A preliminary hearing is set for Tuesday.
