All seven school buildings in the Oswego City School District were put on “lock out” Thursday afternoon after a “suspicious image” circulated on social media.
A student made a “suspicious and threatening statement” on social media, the district said.
The student has been located and is cooperating with police.
According to the district, the student was not on-site at any of the schools.
The district did not believe that students were in imminent danger, but proceeded with the lockout as a precaution.
The lockout was in effect for an hour and has since been lifted. Classes continued as normal.
