Syracuse men’s lacrosse eliminated in first round of NCAA tournament by Loyola

(WSYR-TV) — The Syracuse men’s lacrosse team was eliminated from the NCAA Tournament in the first round after losing to Loyola 15-13 on Saturday in Baltimore.

The Orange held a 12-10 lead entering the fourth quarter but allowed Loyola to outscore them 5-1 in the fourth.

Jamie Trimboli, Stephen Refuss, Nate Soloman, and Brendan Curry each scored two goals for the Orange.

Syracuse goalie Drake Porter made 13 saves on the day.

Loyola-Maryland’s Pat Spencer, a Tewaaraton Award finalist, scored three goals and had six assists.

Loyola plays the winner of No. 1 Penn State vs. UMBC.
