Syracuse Police: 36-year-old charged with stabbing 16-year-old

A 36-year-old man is under arrest after a stabbing on Syracuse’s North Side shortly after midnight.

Police responded to the scene on the 100 block of Kappesser Street after a “large fight” was reported.

When they arrived, police found a 16-year-old suffering from a stab wound to the stomach.

He was taken to Upstate University Hospital, but police do not believe his injuries are life threatening.

36-year-old Joseph Molina was charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

He was taken to the Onondaga County Justice Center shortly after the arrest.
