Tax season is underway, and Monday marks the first day you can begin filing your returns from last year.
The IRS says while most people will get their returns in three weeks, those applying for child care tax credits will have to wait a little longer—until Feb. 15 at the earliest.
When choosing a tax preparer, choose wisely. Look for one with an IRS tax preparer identification number.
The deadline to file is April 18.
The State Tax Department recommends filing electronically because those returns come twice as fast.
