A Syracuse teacher has been released from the hospital after he was stabbed while trying to break up a fight between two female students at Corcoran High School on Thursday.
The 24-year-old substitute teacher suffered stab wounds in the chest, shoulder, and arm.
A 17-year-old student — Zhuantina Hayes — faces charges including assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
Syracuse City School District officials said the school returned to normal about an hour after the incident.
The incident was reported around 10:30 a.m.
Syracuse Police, the fire department, and emergency personnel responded to the scene.
