The Conversation: Former anchor Maureen Green reflects on her 25 years in Syracuse news

News

If you’ve been around Syracuse for a while, you know of Maureen Green who anchored the news on Channel 5 for 25 years before hard times hit the station and she lost her job.

It’s been 10 years since Maureen was on the air and she has a new career and a whole new life on Cape Cod.  She moved back to her native Massachusetts five years ago and is selling real estate. Some of her clients are Central New Yorkers buying second homes.

“There’s a lot that I miss about Syracuse. You know I raised my four children there, I met you (Carrie Lazars) there, I had the career of a lifetime there, so I was really invested in Syracuse and obviously Syracuse had invested in me,” she said.
