UPDATE: Onondaga Lake Parkway open after tractor-trailer accident

UPDATE: Onondaga Lake Parkway is open as of 10:05 p.m. Wednesday night after crews cleared debris and removed an overturned tractor-trailer that hit the bridge around 6 p.m.

(WSYR-TV) — Onondaga Lake Parkway is closed in both directions from Heid’s Corner to the city side after a tractor-trailer hit the bridge around 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

The tractor-trailer, driven by Tyron Gibbs, 38, of Syracuse, was ticketed for failing to obey traffic control devices.

The trailer, owned by Brenntag Worldwide, was empty at the time of the crash and Gibbs was not injured.

The parkway is shut down for the time being until crews are able to clear the scene.
