US Marshals: Wanted murder, sexual assault suspect could be in Upstate NY

The US Marshals is looking for a Vermont man suspected of murder and sexually assaulting a minor.

According to the federal agency, Leroy Headley is wanted for the murder of his longtime partner and mother of his two children.  

His partner was found shot and killed on May 3, 2018 inside their shared home in South Burlington, Vermont. 

He is also wanted for sexual assault of a minor and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.  

After the murder, Headley fled the state and his whereabouts are unknown. 

He is originally from Jamaica and has ties across the United States and Canada.

Investigators believe he may have been through Upstate New York at one point. 

Headley is likely living under an alias and may have changed his appearance, according to US Marshals. 

He should be considered armed and dangerous.
