A Utica man is facing felony charges after an infant arrived at St. Elizabeth Hospital with what police described as severe injuries.
According to police, they began investigating after a caller reported that an infant at the home had been injured during a fall.
After being taken to the local hospital, the infant was transported to Upstate University Hospital, where medical personnel determined that the injuries were older and “at different levels of healing.”
After an investigation that included both Utica Police and the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office, the infant’s father was indicted multiple charges.
Deshaun Cavoly faces charges including third-degree and second-degree assault, and has been jailed without bail.
