Police are investigating after a body was found in a canal in Utica on Thursday morning.
The body, only identified as female, was discovered by a boater on the Erie Canal off of Leland Avenue North around 10:30 a.m.
Utica Police Chief Mark Williams says it’s unknown how long the woman was in the water, but she was dressed for “warm weather.”
She had no identification on her.
