Florida’s Boynton Beach Police Department has released body camera footage of a daring rescue in which an officer used his own hands to trap a trespassing alligator.
Police Officer Alfredo Vargas was better equipped than most for the unusual call.
In 2004, he toured an Alligator Rescue Facility, and then went on for further training in capturing alligators.
And 13 years later, he put his trapping skills to good use.
