Wednesday morning’s commute varied in snow totals and snowfall intensity as a lake effect band shifted across parts of Central New York.
While checking out well-traveled routes such as I-81 through Syracuse and north of the city — some stretches of the highway were more clear than others. As the wind picked up, some areas had near white-out conditions.
The morning NewsChannel 9 crew spotted a few cars off the road due to heavier snow between 5 and 8 a.m.
Areas such as the Village of Liverpool experienced a brief break before 7 a.m. with light snowfall winding down.
